Where are the incisions?

Rhinoplasty Incisions

At Amelia, we use the “stair incision” for open rhinoplasty. It’s a small incision typically midway between the nostril and base of the columella. Because the incision is not straight across, it heals into a less visible scar.

Rhinoplasty Recovery & Results Timeline

Keep in mind that everyone’s surgery and recovery are unique. Your surgeon will give you individualized instructions and timelines during your consultation.

Expect peak bruising and swelling around this time.

1 week

Internal and external splints and sutures are removed by your surgeon.

2 weeks

The majority of swelling and bruising has resolved.

Most are cleared to resume wearing glasses and blowing their noses.
