He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, reflecting his strong clinical foundation and commitment to excellence in patient care.

Dr. Tom completed his plastic surgery fellowship at Indiana University in Indianapolis, where he also served as Chief Resident, gaining advanced training in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
Prior to specializing in plastic surgery, he completed a full general surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, where he was selected as Chief Resident. During this time, he also pursued additional fellowship training in surgical critical care, further strengthening his ability to manage complex surgical cases and provide comprehensive patient care.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude from Wabash College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tom has contributed to the field of plastic surgery through research, publications, and presentations. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences, covering topics such as reconstructive techniques, trauma care, and surgical outcomes.
He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and remains engaged in ongoing education to stay at the forefront of advancements in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Tom enjoys spending time with his family as a husband and father. He also enjoys chess, weightlifting, snowmobiling, and exploring his love for coffee.
